This image is of @juangmosqueda, owner of the #chelsea gallery Chamber. We awoke this morning and randomly found an article on CNN telling of the ordeal that seems to have become more and more common in this country.
Juan was detained for 14 hours without legal counsel, questioned under oath and threatened with the possibility of not being able to return for 5 years. He was deprived of food and frisked 3 times when he needed to use the bathroom. Later in the day, he was ushered by armed officers onto a return flight to Buenos Aires Argentina and was not given access to his personal belongings until he landed.
Today, March 2, 2017 is the opening of his gallery's latest installation, #DomesticAppeal curated by @matyldakrzykowski. Juan will miss the opening because of this ordeal. ⠀
We, Greg and Lorraine, are outraged at the bullying, intimidation and alienation to which certain foreigners are being subjected. This discrimination is appalling. We stand with you @juangmosqueda and all immigrants who are now living in fear within the United States.
I, Greg, plan on going and filming and taking pictures of the evening so that Juan can see the success that he and his team has worked so hard to conceive. ⠀
If you are moved to show your support, come to the following address tonight from 6-8pm. I'll see you there. ⠀
